Carbon Offset Initiative

We are committed to creating a sustainable future. We understand the environmental impact of blockchain technology and RWAs, and we are taking proactive steps to offset our carbon footprint.

Our Commitment

We pledge to offset any CO2 emissions that we may produce by being on the Polygon blockchain or through our real-world assets. Our goal is to be a clean, long-term, and sustainable system.

Our Strategy

A portion of each transaction across all our tokens (HDGE, BXWD, and NPF) goes back to a dedicated wallet known as the "tree tax". Specifically, 0.5% of every transaction is set aside for our Carbon Offset Initiative.

Our Actions

The funds accumulated in the dedicated wallet are used to:

  1. Grow and Plant Trees: Trees absorb CO2 from the atmosphere, helping to mitigate the effects of climate change. We will use a portion of the funds to grow and plant trees.

  2. Plant Shrubs, Hedges and Plants: Like trees, shrubs, hedges, and plants also absorb CO2. Planting shrubs can help improve soil quality and prevent erosion, contributing to a healthier ecosystem.

  3. Purchase Land: We will purchase land to ensure that the trees and shrubs we plant remain undisturbed. This will allow them to grow and absorb CO2 over many years.

Through these actions, we aim to offset our carbon emissions and contribute to a more sustainable future. Also, while we strive to offset our carbon emissions, it’s important to remember that the most effective way to reduce carbon emissions is to avoid them in the first place.
